A Profile of Aged Population in China: Results from 2000 and 2006 Sample Surveys of the Aged Population in Urban/Rural China

This article should give a presentation of Aging Population in China, Aging Policy in China, The Sample Survey of the Aged Population in Urban/Rural China (SSAPUR 2000 & 2006),and some results from two surveys.

This article has found that Significant urban and rural differences, Better living condition but less satisfaction with housing, Less willing to live with children and growing number of "empty nests, More lonely and decreasing psychological well-being among rural elders, and Significant increase of needs for care, etc.

This article also try to discusses and bring forward some recommendations for government to stipulate for social policy in order to improve living conditions of the aged people of China.
